Sita Kalyanam | Sonnet – 6 | Wedding Ceremony of Ram and Sita
Mithila’s elation glided into merriment,
King of Mithila, Janak had to sanctify engagement;
Janak was absorbed in lofty marriage arrangements,
Mithila wore a bridal look with enthrallment.
News from Mithila rejoiced the jubilant Ayodhya,
King of Ayodhya hovered in great enjoyment;
Ram and his brothers found sublime brides in Mithila,
Vishwa Mitr planned the prophetic engagement.
Mithila was spruced up into dazzling delight,
Gods and angels appeared in human form;
Ram and Siya were bound by sacred rite,
heavenly bliss descended with gracious charm.
God has come as Ram to prove his kind grace,
faith is Ram as Icon, faith is God’s peace.
